NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The College of Southern Maryland volleyball program started off strong against a familiar face in the Raptors from Montgomery College, winning the first set by a score of 25-21 before ultimately dropping the contest in four.

• Lelia Iafeta shine brightly on both ends of the court, taking the Hawks' kills crown (8, 2.00 per set), earning 11 digs (2.75 per set) on the defensive end, and blocking two attempts (0.50 per set).

• Deanna Kalkbrenner outdid herself by blocking a half-dozen Raptors attacks (1.50 per set) to give her ten in seven sets on the day.

• Taylor Hollinger has as the sole player in Black and Gold with multiple service aces on Saturday, watching a pair hit the hardwood floor.
