Five Hawks Earn All-MD JUCO Volleyball Accolades

LA PLATA, Md. – The College of Southern Maryland volleyball program claimed its highest number of representatives on the All-MD JUCO teams in the team's recorded history dating back to 2011 as two players earned first team honors while a trio of student-athletes landed on the second team.

 

Lelia Iafeta, a sophomore First Team selection from Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, finished second in the conference regarding points (356.5), kills per set (3.71), and total kills (323) in addition to ranking sixth for points per set (4.1).

 

Ana Martinez, a freshman First Team selection from Mexico City, Mexico, joins her teammate with the highest honors in league, fronting all competitors with 499 digs while claiming runner-up status in digs per set at 5.67.

 

Deanna Kalkbrenner, a freshman Second Team selection from Huntingtown, Maryland, was listed on the top-ten leaderboard for numerous categories as she ended second in hitting percentage (0.362), solo blocks (37) and total blocks (77), third in blocks per set (0.91), and ninth in points (235).

 

Amelie Lancioni, a freshman Second Team selection from Livorno, Italy, played a dual-role as primary setter via the fourth-most assists (559) and seventh-best assist per set mark (6.35) as well as anchoring the defense by logging the sixth-highest number of digs (303).

 

Mia Decarlo, a sophomore from Frostburg, Maryland, became a two-time All-MD JUCO selection after receiving an Honorable Mention in 2024 followed by this year's Second Team selection, as despite missing some time due to injury, she still managed to lead the Black and Gold in service aces per set (0.42) plus slot behind only Lancioni in total aces (27).
