Nearly Entire Volleyball Starting Lineup Makes All-Region 20 Squad

LA PLATA, Md. – The College of Southern Maryland volleyball program saw five members of the team's ten-player roster, or nearly the entire starting lineup, get the recognition they deserved Wednesday afternoon as Lelia Iafeta (First Team), Ana Martinez (First Team), Amelie Lancioni (Second Team), Deanna Kalkbrenner (Second Team), and Mia Decarlo (Second Team) all earned spots on the list for the first time.

Iafeta was Coach Sanders' go-to offensive weapon all year long, leading the Hawks with 356.5 points (4.20 p/s) and 323 kills (3.71 p/s) while also racking up 203 digs (2.33 p/s), 22 service aces (0.25 p/s), and 21 blocks (0.24 p/s).

Martinez was the dynamic defensive-minded grinder that wielded a deadly serve, topping the team in both digs (499, 5.67 p/s) and aces (34, 0.39 p/s) plus she aided on 60 assists (0.68 p/s).

Lancioni was a walking double-double, registering at least ten assists as well as ten digs in the same match 15 times out of 27 contests (55.6%) on top of leading the Black and Gold with a 0.241 hitting percentage to go along an average of 6.35 assists and 3.44 digs per set.

Decarlo was the primary server for CSM, coming up clutch time and time again for a Hawks-high 0.42 service ace per set rate (27 total) in addition to digging up 136 balls defensively.

Deanna Kalkbrenner built a fortress above the net and allowed few to pass by her outstretched arms unscathed, amassing a whooping 77 blocks that included 37 solo stops as she was involved in more than 55% of the club's block tally (133).
