College of Southern Maryland Hawks baseball interim head coach Brad Sullivan had the interim tag removed from his title and will become the head coach of the program.
Sullivan served as the interim head coach for the spring 2023 season after previously working with the Hawks as an assistant coach, the third base coach, and the hitting coach from 2018-2022.
Sullivan has been with the CSM baseball program since the 2017 season. That year, he started as a volunteer assistant coach, then became a paid assistant coach in 2018.
As part of the CSM coaching staff since 2017, Sullivan helped lead the Hawks back to the Region 20 Division II postseason tournament in 2021 for the first time since 2014. They made it back-to-back appearances in 2022 when they also earned their first postseason win in recent history. The Hawks made the tournament for the third year in a row this past season, and finished the year with an 18-23 overall record.
Sullivan has helped develop and coach multiple All-MD JUCO and All-Region 20 Division II honorees during his time at CSM, including an NJCAA All-American in Mikey Guy in 2022. Three Hawks made the All-Region 20 Division II Team this spring - Justin Aponte, Andrew Leginze, and Roy Tayman.
"I am very excited to take over the baseball program here at the College of Southern Maryland full-time," Sullivan said. "I thought this past season was a successful season and a good stepping stone in preparing myself to be the full-time head coach. I have been fortunate to have two great assistant coaches - Todd Snell and Zach Roll - help me this past year as the interim head coach. I am excited for us to have the opportunity to work with this team for a full year. I was lucky enough to coach under the previous head coach, Aaron Michael. I learned a lot from him and am looking forward to using those lessons in my first full year as coach. I am excited for this opportunity and looking forward to keeping the winning tradition that CSM has established these past few years."
