Weekly Recap: Spring Season Ends In Region 20 Tournament

LA PLATA, Md. – The College of Southern Maryland athletics program saw the 2025-26 athletic calendar close on Saturday with third-seeded softball advancing to the semifinals and sixth-seeded baseball falling in the opening game.

Softball:

• Top Performers
  • Emily Shuff worked both in the circle and the batter's box, pitching 3.2 scoreless frames, minus one unearned run, in addition to hitting .364 with four hits, three RBIs, two runs scored, and a double.
  • Miranda Twigg was nearly unstoppable as a hitter, going 5-for-6 (.833) with one of the team's three long balls plus a trio of ribbies.
  • The run production primarily came from the duo of Carrie Hayden and Leanne Fenwick who combined for a .400 average (8-for-20), eight RBIs, four scores, and a dinger apiece.
