Weekly Recap: Taylor & Taylor Shine Bright in Trio of Road Games

LA PLATA, Md. – The College of Southern Maryland athletics program may not have tallied a win in their three matchups last week, but both squads received spectacular performances from student-athletes with the surname of Taylor to build upon moving forward.

 

Men's Basketball: 

 

  • Results

  • Top Performers
    • Shamir Taylor was one of the two players mentioned in the headline / opening paragraph, leading the Hawks in points (30), rebounds (11), and steals (4) en route to his fourth double-double of 2025-26, the third consecutive game in double-digits for both categories.
    • Amir Dade did his fair share of scoring (14 points), but his primary contributions came from his generosity via a club-high six assists while narrowly missing a double-double of his own at nine boards.
    • James Hans lit up the scoreboard as well despite the losing effort, dropping 24 points against the Raptors on 10-of-21 (47.6%) shooting, corralling seven rebounds (four offensive), tying Taylor for the most steals (4), and dished out a trio of assists.
    • Stephon Coleau made his presence felt as a reserve, posting a solid 15 points in 30 minutes while going 5-for-11 (45.5%) from the floor.

    • Amoni Taylor is the other student-athlete referenced earlier, topping the Black and Gold with 43 points (21.5 per game), 8 steals (4.0 per game), 6 three-pointers (3.0 per game), and a 36.6% field goal percentage (15-of-41).
    • Desiree Barnes was the most prominent producer on the glass courtesy of 17 rebounds (8.5 per game) and Sanaa Morrow was the main assister at four (2.0 per game).
    • The duo of Cailyn Samuel and Demi Lathern each contributed just under double-figure point averages in the two games over back-to-back days, putting up 9.5 (19 total) and 9.0 (18 total), respectively.
