Cross Country Runners Place in First Meet of Season

Freshmen Brandon Harty and Nathan Maldonado-Munoz took 13th and 16th place, respectively, in the men's 8K race at the Shannon Henretty Invitational hosted by Stevenson University in Stevenson, Md., on September 7.

Harty ran a time of 35:09.71, while Maldonado-Munoz finished just a couple minutes behind him at 36:55.89.

CSM head coach Ken Killion said, "Brandon and Nate work really well together in workouts so they should help each other improve as the season goes along."

 "There were a couple of nice performances for the team, especially for those who were running collegiately for the first time," Killion said. "We are hoping to see some improvement as the season progresses and the team gains experience of running these longer distances."

CSM's next meet is the Catholic University Cardinal Classic on September 14.
