Sophomore infielder Mikey Guy was named to the 2021-22 NJCAA Baseball Division II All-America Third Team on June 13.
Among NJCAA Division II student-athletes, Guy ranked 30th in batting average (.430), 33rd in slugging percentage (.738), tied for 33rd in RBIs with 59, and tied for 50th in doubles with 16.
Guy is the first CSM baseball student-athlete to be named to an All-America team since Jason Adams in 1993.
CSM baseball head coach Aaron Michael said, "Mikey absolutely deserves this. He had a fantastic season, including some huge moments, and it couldn't happen to a better guy. Great teammate, great student, great player - he is everything you could ever hope for out of a player."
Guy was also named to this year's All-Region 20 Division II First Team and All-Maryland JUCO First Team.
Among Region 20 Division II hitters, Guy ranked first in RBIs (59) and total bases (110) and tied for first in slugging percentage (.738). He also ranked second in hits (64) and batting average (.430). He tied for third in doubles with 16, and was tied for fourth in triples with three. He finished tied for fifth in runs (47) and home runs (eight). He also finished 14th in on-base percentage (.467).
Among Maryland JUCO players, Guy ranked second in batting average (.430) and RBIs (59) and tied for second in hits (64). He finished third in total bases with 110 and was tied for fourth in doubles with 16. He ranked fifth with a .738 slugging percentage. Guy also finished tied for seventh in triples with three and tied for 10th in home runs with eight.
On July 11, Guy was named to the 2021-22 NJCAA All-Academic Second Team.
Guy was one of 3,322 student-athletes nationwide named to the Second Team. Student-athletes who achieved a GPA of 3.80-3.99 for the 2021-22 academic year were named to the Second Team. This is also the second consecutive year Guy was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team.
