Women's Basketball Falls to Cardinals

The College of Southern Maryland women's basketball team lost to the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals on January 14 by a score of 100-90.

Sophomore Amaya Yancey scored a career-high 33 points while adding a team-high six assists. She also had three rebounds, an assist, and a block. This was Yancey's first time in her career scoring 30 or more points.

Freshman Karalina Lawrence tied her career-high with 30 points. She now has three 30-point games to her name after putting up that total at Cheyney University on January 11 and against Louisburg College on December 14. Lawrence also grabbed eight rebounds, made one assist, and went a perfect 8-8 from the free-throw line.

Freshman Kirsten Hamilton provided 16 points, shooting 6-11 from the floor and 4-9 from behind the 3-point line. She also had six rebounds and an assist.

CSM's record is now 5-7 overall and 1-2 in Maryland JUCO. Their next game is January 17 at Chesapeake College at 5 p.m.
