Hawks fall to Frederick, Look Ahead to Chesapeake

The Cougars of Frederick CC had 27 of their 42 shots on goal, eight of them going through the net as CSM was shutout 8-0 on Friday, October 12th.

The Cougars, who currently hold second place in the Region XX standings, was able to get on the board early.  Jonatan Andrade scored a goal off a pass from Vagner Marquis-Rodriguez to make the score 1-0 with six and a half minutes into the first half. Marquis-Rodriguez earned his second assist on a goal from Luis Flores to make the score 2-0, with 13 minutes remaining in the first half. Flores scored his second goal and Divin Founga Gouma added another to make the score 4-0 at the end of the first half. It was much the same to start the second half, as four more goals were scored by the Cougars to win the game 8-0.  

The Hawks will put the loss behind them as they prepare for Chesapeake College on Tuesday, October 16th at 4pm. The Skipjack's are 4-9 this season, 3-7 in conference play. Forward Austin Werner leads the team in goals with five, and a shot on goal percentage of 75% with 18 of 24 on net. Midfielder Cody Mesias is second on the team in goals with four, and has 17 of his 22 shots on goal this season, a percentage of 77.3%. 

Look for Miles Payton to generate plays on offense while Zachary McDonough and Dylan Henderson anchor the defense for CSM.
