Title: Head Coach

Coach Collins returns to CSM, after serving under previous head coach Jim Cleary for three years, taking over as the head coach of the CSM Softball team.

Collins is more than thrilled to take over the reigns as head coach. “I am extremely ecstatic to get the season started”, said Collins.

After playing a role as the Hawks assistant coach under Cleary from 2014-2017, Collins became the Head Softball Coach at Lackey High School (Indian Head). She was able to turn their program around rather quickly, as she led Lackey’s Softball team to their first regional championship in 15 years.

In addition to coaching high school softball, she has multiple years of experience coaching youth softball, most recently her younger sister’s 14-U travel team. She has been ingrained in softball since she starting playing at eight years old. She was an outfielder at La Plata high school, and played well enough to earn a scholarship to Concord University in Athens, Virginia. In her four years at Concord she would become their all-time leader in hits (188) and games played (180). She also ranks second in career runs (118), third in stolen bases (35) and fifth in RBI’s (78).

Her family also has a rich tradition of being on a baseball/softball diamond. Her grandfather and father played baseball collegiately, and all three of her younger brothers have played or are currently playing baseball.

When not on the diamond, she spends time with her two children and her husband.
